Enhancing security, compatibility, and ease of integration on enterprise networks

Updated over 2 weeks ago

What’s New?

To improve the security and accessibility of Verdigris gateways in enterprise environments, all data transmission and remote troubleshooting now use port 443, replacing ports 8883 and 22. This change aligns with industry standards and provides a more robust network experience.

Key Benefits

  • Stronger Security: Port 443 supports SSL/TLS encryption, ensuring data protection through industry-standard HTTPS protocols.

  • Improved Firewall Compatibility: Port 443 is widely accepted in corporate firewall settings, reducing potential connectivity issues.

  • Simplified Network Configuration: Eliminates the need for special access to port 8883, streamlining firewall and network setup.

With this update, Verdigris gateways are configured by default to use port 443 for MQTT communications, allowing for a smoother, more secure data flow in complex network environments.
